CONSIGNMENT SELLING FEES
We disclose the selling price to our consignors and do not charge a Buyer’s Premium on the proceeds of the sale.
Consignment Fees (+ GST)
15% to $100,000.00
Additional fees apply for consignments with a value of less than $50,000.00
If appropriate and desirable we can purchase suitable artworks [conditions apply]. Proceeds will be deposited to your account within 48 hours after an agreement has been reached.

We handle all gambit of things that have to be done in order to sell your valuable investment. From collection and conservation all the way through to delivery, we take care of all of the paperwork necessary. Our professional team navigates through all of the bureaucracy and red tape in dealing with the relevant authorities both in Australia and abroad.
While we personally handle all important artworks ourselves, we also manage and supervise the processing and sale of all secondary works through channels / agents that we know and trust who are both reputable and the most appropriate for the artwork in question.
If appropriate and desirable we can offer financing of artworks, on terms, until the goods are sold. This financing, depending on the circumstances, can provide short term cash flow or can be used as a method to instantly deliver a large portion of the sale proceeds while the sale process occurs
Our marketing is individualized to each artwork and not centred around a particular auction encompassing 100 or more items. We tailor the marketing of each piece in order to obtain the best possible price for our sellers
Because we derive our commission solely from the seller we are and act only in the interests of the seller. Unlike an auction house who is acting between parties and derives commission from both, we understand exactly where our allegiances lie and align ourselves accordingly.
While we handle entire art collections, we process artworks that are not suitable for our gallery through other channels, including, but not limited to, Australian art auction houses. This in turn allows us to focus on the principal artworks in the collection. All introductory commissions are fully disclosed to the client.
Gallery Exhibition Space
69 John St Fine Art Specialists provides an ideal exhibition space for your artworks. Spilt across two levels, our large space allows each work to be showcased to its full potential.
Between four to five exhibitions will be held onsite each year with both online and printed catalogues. 69 John St also participates in fairs such as the Australian Antique and Art Dealers Association Fair, ensuring that we promote your Australian art via multiple avenues, reaching as many potential buyers as possible.

Once we have received your enquiry we will:
- Provide you with our recommendations and outline the options available to you.
- Provide with you with the relevant completed documentation to execute for consignment or sale, as applicable.
- We will arrange for your work to be collected at a time that is convenient for you.
- On sale of your work(s) promptly transfer the funds into your elected bank account.
